Namestsko – the landscape of game preserves and forests

The landscape conservation zone of Namestsko is the one and only zone of this type in Vysocina. It is located between Namest nad Oslavou and Kralice nad Oslavou. The purpose of this contribution is presentation from the point of view of landscape, urban planning and architectural and determination of important cultural and historical values, spatial and visual links. The emphasis is on two game preserves, in Namest and Jinosov, and its values. They take up a big part of the territory. The landscape conservation zone is characterized by forest-field landscape, rolling landscape and valley of stream. The game preserve of Namest is also called Kralice, it is a natural monument and is the bigger of the two game preserves. The dominant feature is the classical hunting lodge Lusthaus and fallow deer breeding is typical here.The game preserve of Jinosov is connected to Schonwald castle and Jindrich Vilem, who transformed the original pheasantry into an English park. Both of game preserves are a composed landscape. There are many forest aisles, visual axis, cultural monuments and other typical values for a game preserves. These are, for example, enclosure walls, pillar gates, orangeries, sheepfolds, gamekeeper´s house, feeding-racks. The landscape complex is completed especially by the ponds, the watering holes, Both of game preserves are dominated by mixed and broadleaved forests.with beeches and oaks.The game preserves are perceived mainly as natural areas with a historical context.Their signifikance is completed by individual signs, which are proof of the cultural and historical life of this part of the landscape.
Methodology of Landscape Conservation Zones' Impact Assessment

The methodology defines a procedure for the landscape conservation zones' impact assessment. The method is based on a precautionary principle and is designed so that would be possible to prevent heritage area from negative irreversible impact on the landscape cultural and historical values. The methodology is intended for the experts and competent staff of the National Heritage Institute responsible for landscape conservation zones planning and management.

Methodology of Monitoring of the Landscape Conservation Zones

Cultural landscape presents with its diversity and uniqueness a significant part of the natural and cultural heritage of human society. They are the Landscape Conservation Zones (LCZ) are currently the only legal category, through which the state heritage preservation may enter the field of protection of unique historical cultural landscape. Basic problem of the current management of the Landscape Conservation Zones is an absence of systematically designed, structured and standardized system of area conservation, management and planning including aspects of identification and evidence of the landscape values and methods of landscape quality monitoring. The guidance presents main principles of the suitable monitoring indicators and way of the landscape heritage assessment in the Czech Republic. There is the special emphasis is put on indicators describing changes of the land use pattern, landscape visibility and effectiveness of the planning tools.
